That is correct. I changed my 15 amp to a regular outlet replacing the GFI outlet. After that it worked great. Went to visit my brother-in-law in Michigan and he installed a 30 amp outlet for my camper. Used the 30 amp adapter on a regular 15 amp outlet for over a week, ran both AC units, microwave and electric hot water heater without a problem.

Sucks for me, I have this adaptor, and anytime I have had to use it at a campground, they have a GFI plug, so I never get to use it LOL

Go one step further and buy a small Honda generator and run the 15 amp off of that, now you have 45 amps.

Why did I not think of that, especially since I already have a Honda generator???
Good idea, ill remember that next time I know I am going someplace with less than adequate power.
