Integrated brake controller for GM?

I think it was in the latest Truck Trend magazine I read GM will add an integrated brake controller in the new models, like the Ford's. Anyone know if GM is working with Tekonsha, like Ford did?

Steve,
As of last discussion, I was told GM is working with Tekonsha on their brake controller. I sure hope so! I was amazed at the smoothness and stopping power I noticed in Bill and Helen's truck while on our little journey to get their axle alignment done while at the rally.

I saw some press release the other day stating that it will have a builtin controller as an option. Since we'll be in the market this summer, this is one of the things I'm watching. I'm spoiled by my Ford's builtin controller and would consider it a serious plus when we're looking for a new TV.

Well, since the big three tend to copy each other's successes you can well imagine that GM will be adding a controller, perhaps so will Dodge. The only positive factor in Ford's truck I considered when buying a new TV was the built in controller since the PowerStroke Diesel was having bad press due to reliability issues.

Odd that Dodge and Ford do not have an Onstar clone. Also, wish GM would add a decent in-dash navigation like on the Chrysler products or BlueTooth technology for hands free calling but that would impact their OnStar program.

I almost checked it out before I got my Pioneer Z1, but I didn't. I was going to check with GM/GMC. They have Navigation systems in the Avalanche and Hi-end Suburbans and Yukons. It looked like it was the same double-din size radio as my OEM radio. If you want an in-dash nav sys, you might check with GM or GMC. I bet you could get one installed.

Yep, I know GM makes an in-dash NAV system but it is poorly laid out and the Cadillac system will transfer to a Silverado. For example you could either use the CD-ROM for the NAV data disk or an audio disk. Bad engineering in my opinion.

Here are some links for the new GM trucks. Pictures of interiors and exteriors, some pictures of the HD's.

Decisions, decisions. Wait for all the new goodies, but with the new pollution junk, or jump on one of the few remaining LBZ's on the lots.
