Tire protection

What brands of non-petroleum-based tire sprays are recommended? I've discovered all my favorites ARE petroleum-based and read here once that's a no-no.

I use Croftgate Tire Shine:

Tire Shine

Don't know about protection, but they sure look good.

I am not convinced they need anything. My 7 yr old Michelins still look fine and never any thing at all other than being washed a time or two each year.

I do use 303 on my truck tires when I wash it. But just for the looks, not protection.

I am actually thinking truck more than trailer. I have used the usual stuff on both. I like the way they look, but if it's damaging the sidewall, I'd rather use something different. Thing is, I've used these off the shelf products my whole adult life, with all my vehicles. Never had a problem that I'm aware of. Leave it to the MOC to uncover this! I meant that in a good way....

303 protectant. It is awesome stuff. All my plastics get it. My awning gets it. My tires get it.

Yep, I've used Armor All along with Mequiers, and Mothers among others. Some list the ingredients, some don't.

303 Aerospace Protectant for me, it is like sunglasses for the tires and it is non petroleum based.

I don't use anything on my tires. It just gets slung all over the truck. I just keep them clean. I like to keep my stuff detailed all the time. I even clean the engine bay with a Swifer Duster. I also wash the dust off the suspension so it looks nice. You might say I have car OCD. I haven't found anything that lasts long enough to use and will stay on the tire as you drive. I use covers on my TT when i park it. that stuff will get all over the inside of the covers if you use it on your TT.

I do the opposite. The truck tires will wear out...tread will be gone, before they die of old age. Therefore, they get the glossy stuff with petroleum in it. The RV tires will never mileage out, so they get the 303 on them.

Brake dust will stick to most tire gloss. I use wax on the wheels to keep the dust down. Yes i wax the insides as well. That means that i take them off the car and wash and clean them once a year.

When at an RV show a few years ago, I asked a guy with an RV on display how he got the tires looking so good. "Brake fluid" he said with a grin.
