Leak in the bedroom
We are full-timers in a 2012 3150RL that we bought new. Ever since the first time it rained on us, we've had a wet spot at the front end of the bedroom slide. Three dealers have looked at it, all said they couldn't find any problem or couldn't recreate the problem. We can't see where the water is coming from, but it seems that once it hits the carpet it wicks from there down to the floor.
There is a rubber strip that on the aft end of the slide is on top of the carpet, where it could divert the water to the outside. Where the leak is, the strip is under the carpet.
Has anyone else had this problem?

If it's happening when it rains, we and others have had the same problem. In our case it was the 4" strip on the outside that spans the slide. Recaulking it across the top of the strip ended the problem for two years. Since we summer in Kansas and winter in Yuma the heat caused the caulk to shrink and I had to redo it this summer. Again, we are now leak free.

I'm having trouble identifying the "4" strip". There is a frame all the way around all the slides, it's 4 3/4" wide. Is that what you mean? There is no caulking between those and the slide roofs on any of the slides. And the leak is at the inside end of the slide, at the RV wall, not the outside end where that frame is. And nothing leaks when we drive in the rain, only when parked with the slide out. Is it supposed to be caulked between the roof and the frame?

Seems like I had a similar problem sometimes. If you park with the slide sloping to the inside, rain will of course, run that direction and the 'flap' at the top of the slide will let it sort of run right at the end. Runs down the slide to the edge of the floor and carpet. Something to look at anyway.

We've looked at the slope issue a lot. We always make sure the RV is level, and when it is you can see (and measure, with a spirit level) that the slide roofs slope away on both sides. We have tried being slightly off level in both directions, and it doesn't make any difference.

I think you're talking about the right strip, but it sounds like you're looking at the wrong end. The strip most of us have had success sealing is the one across the bottom edge of the slide and we sealed it on it's upper seam.

Oh, that makes some sense. I'll check tomorrow morning, but if the slide is tilted in and it leaked on that bottom frame segment, it could go more or less horizontally 3 feet along the slide and into the RV.

I have a 3150rl also and had a leak on the front end of slide that wet the carpet. What I found was the 4 inch long piece of molding that is vertical at the front lower corner of the slide was not caulked to the side of the trailer. Recaulked the piece of trim and no more leaks.

We went to the dealer today and the tech said he has seen the problem a lot, that the joint on the inner edge of the slide roof is not properly sealed during manufacture, and water runs down inside the wall, down to the carpet. He fixed it (nice job). It's supposed to rain maybe on Sunday, so we'll see.

What model Montana do you have?
When does this occur? When it rains, after a shower or sink use, after a black tank flush (my bet), or ???

John, check your tv antenna. The wire has a grommet around it and has a tendency to come off. That’s where ours was leaking from. The water would run towards the front edge of the slide. Put silicone down the hole and then push the grommet on. Silicone around the top edge.

I have a 2011 3750FL, I just noticed that every time water is ran it comes out the leak in the black tank which is on order.

I take it every time you run water in the sink or shower it comes out in the doorway the bedroom?
But the toilet does not.
What does "every time water is ran it comes out the leak in the black tank" mean? Is there a broken black tank? Is the sink/shower water coming out through that broken tank?
Don't you have a separate grey tank for the sink/shower?
I assume the FL models with bedrooms/baths in the rear have different tank layouts which I am not familiar with.
