Keystone fixed our frame flex!

We just returned from our Indiana trip to the Keystone factory to get our '03 Mountaneer repaired from a severe case of the dreaded "frame flex". Other than our outrageous fuel cost, it was a great experience. Keystone is such a top notch company and their employees are great. We dropped our '03 Mountaineer at the repair facility 7:30 AM. They started working on it immediately. Darrell called each day to keep us informed on what they found and what they were going to do or did. They found broken welds on the plates that hold the side walls. They re-enforced and rewelded. They put wood in the alluminum wall tubes to give the wall anchoring screws something to bite into. They put a nylon guide at the bottom of the bedroom slide to make the sliding easier and updated both slide-outs rubber seals. They also replaced a piece of filon under the bedroom slide that was delaminating because of the flexing. They repaired the interior damage and thoroughly inspected the entire trailer and did some tightening etc. We were taken through the trailer for an inspection of everything they did. The 2 men who worked on it were great guys and Darrell was just wonderful. They finished it in 2 days. We couldn't be more satisfied. We toured a few factories while there and had a personal tour of the Montana factory. David was a great guide. We would recommend the Best Western if you ever need a place to stay. Clean, a nice staff and a wonderful "hot" breakfast. We wished we wouldn't have had to do the trip in the first place but beings our trailer is going on 8 years old, Keystone came through for us.

That is great news that Keystone covered your frame flex.

I hope I never need their help, but it is nice to know that they are there to help.

Your experience is typical of the service at the "service center" and of Darrell and his crew. What they did they do evey day for evey brand of Keystone.
IMO having toured most of the other plants there is no better.

Please let keystone know about your positive experience.

My hat is off to Keystone!! I have an 05 model, I'm watching for signs of frame flex none as of now. I installed Trial Air to maybe help the frame travel over our not so smooth roads.

Yes, there is nothing better in life when your in Dire Straits and a company comes through with excellent service and support from both the company and their staff. It is so nice to hear the positive things that happen in the end result!! Kudos to Keystone and their staff; keep up the great work and the word will travel!!
Hope your travels and RVing will be trouble free now.

We had ours fixed last year and Keystone stepped up to the plate and paid for the repairs. Thank you very much.

Almost wants me to break something just to have the experience. But going through that problem can't be fun!

It's great to hear that you can put the flex problem behind you. It helps that the experience is made positive with such great treatment.

That is great news about Keystone. We love the floor plan of our 3400RL and to know that the company will stand behind their product is unbelievable customer support.

We have never needed it (hope we won't) but nice to know that it is there. Glad you had your problem fixed and it is now happy travels again for you guys....

It really has been a relief to have our fiver all put together again. We were having anxiety everytime we hooked up. After the long trip to the factory (11 hrs. total), there was a sigh of relief when we unhooked at the service center that we really made it in one piece. There was much more confidence on the return trip. We are looking forward to a great camping season since it was cut a bit short last year. Thanks for your replies! (Thanks Keystone!)

Doug and Lorraine Great news! We too have been in your position. Just got our rig back on Mar 17. Our rig was repaired at Village RV in Roseville CA and those guys were great! Our rig is a 3280RL Big Sky 2003 model. Keystone came thru for us again. Our rig was in the shop since mid Jan and both Keystone and Lippert sent repair teams from Goshen and the Keystone plant in Pendleton, ID. They shipped in a new front cap because the flexing had caused the fiberglass to crack. Keystone authorized Village RV to repair the front body panel damage caused by the broken frame welds and flexing. Keystone covered everything. Great company product support. That's the good news. The other news is that this is the 3rd time they have repaired the rig for the same problem. First time was at the factory in Goshen Sep 2007 following the MOC rally. Second time was in May 2009 at factory in Goshen and Keystone did to our rig exactly what you described in your earlier posting March 13. We agree, Darrel and the crew treated us great. We were there for 5 days and they did all the things to our rig that you described. After a trip from Folsom CA to San Antonio and return over Xmas the problem returned and it was even worse than the first two times. The crew at Village RV feel that the crew from Lippert and Keystone did a really good job and the rig looks really good with the new front cap and the body done plus they detailed before they turned it back to us. Hope your fixes hold. Keep all your documentation. We are planning a 2 week trip soon as the rain stops here in CA to shake everything down and if all is well off to Alaska in Mid May. Good travels and Good Luck. We would recommend Keystone to anyone.Thank you Keystone and thanks to Sharie and the Customer Service Center.
