Power roof vent
I am new at the 5vrs and just purchased a 2004, 2980 Monty! I have a problem with power vent in the kitchen/dining area. It keeps sticking and will not open. Normally I have to open it by hand and then use the power opener after that, but this last time it was stuck to the gasket again and even when I tried to open it by hand, it would not open. Have any of you had the same problem and if so how did you solve it? Thanks for any help in advance!

Once you get it open, try and wiping a little bit of baby powder around the seal. Since doing so, mine has not been stuck in more than two years.

I don't know what fan you have, but I have a Fantastic Vent fan. Same problem. Called them and they sent out a new seal kit for free. I looked but couldn't find the phone number. They are very good to deal with.

My kit is sitting on the counter they sent me, awaiting someone to climb up and treat the gasket.

Spray some 303 on the seal and it will open and close for over a year with out any problem.
was that 2980 you have purchased in Wenatchee, WA?

This was a topic some time back and a poster said use silicon spray and it worked on mine. I have the new gasket on this fan and it still stuck, but the spray fixed it.

Thaks to all that have replied to our email! I'll be contacting Fantastic Fan and see if they will send me a new gasket but will also try the other remedies mentioned. Thanks again and hopefully if I have any other questions concerning our Montana, I'll get more great answers to help us out! We're new at this 5r stuff so I'm sure we will have plenty more questions in the near future!
