Suggestions for central vac models and placement
Thinking about adding a central vac. to our 381TH. Any suggestions on model and placement of vac and connections?

I have a factory central vac but would trade it for one of the rechargeable stick vacs in a heartbeat. The dustbin feature works fine but it is a little low on suction when using the hose.

Had a central vac in both our old and new unit and tried everything including better hoses and powered brush purchased from the factory. Gave up and purchases a Shark and would not go back.

Well that answers that. Wife said she would prefer the Shark anyway. One less thing to install for me.....

We just purchased one of these, Shark ION Flex 2X Duoclean Cordless Ultra-Light Vacuum, and packed up all the hose and parts of the built in unit to put in storage. It works great, even though a bit pricey.

I installed a Dirt Devil central vac with the bag changing door sticking through the basement wall, and the central vac port in the stair vent. It has great suction, but the self retracting hose is a bit of a PITA, as the farther you stretch it to reach the far ends of the trailer, the harder it is pulling back. Have considered getting a hose that does not retract because it would make it easier to do the chore.

Same here. No beater brush so it wouldn't do much of anything.

I had one in my 3000rk and wife loved it. We did add a beater brush and that it help.
It is one of the few things that survived a roll over. Have every thing that goes with it and it is easy to install, if anybody wants. New trailer came with one.

mtheo,
Well I would take you up on that spare central vac. but Arkansas is a looonnnnngggg way from California and the shipping would most likely be more than a central vac. costs. Nice of you to offer though.....
