Lights

My outside lights are on and won't turn off. I didn't even turn them on in the first place. I used to turn them on with the remote but it got ran over a year ago. So I don't even know how they got turned on.. ANy one else with this problem? How about a fix....

It sounds like somehow the remote relay got activated. That problem usually results from turning them on with the remote and then not being able to turn them off at the switch.

Use the remote to turn them off.

There was a previously posted problem similar to yours that involved a reboot of the controller board but I don't remember the details. I would think if you disconnect and reconnect the battery that it would force a board reset and may be worth a try. Can't guarantee it, but it sounds reasonable.

I have not heard of another remote doing it, but who knows in the mysterious magical world of modern-day electronics. Let us know if the board reboot works and if so how it was accomplished. We have a remote board as well and may need the knowledge for the future.

You can remove the wire that goes from the receiver to the scare lights if you cannot or do not want to reset/replace your board in the front compartment.

When I had a problem with the front utility light, rather than remove the front cap, I tapped into the scare light module in the receiver. This allowed me to include the front utility light when using the remote, that you don't have, or the inside switch.

If you do remove the wire that goes to the scare lights, wrap it with black tape to insulate it as it will be "hot" when you use your inside switch to turn them on.

Hey Mike, were you at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta this past year? Cuz I saw the two tall people shown in your avatar there (I am assuming you are the "short" guy in the middle)

Disconnect the battery for (I did mine for 15 minutes when I could not reprogram the system)and all worked well. Give that a try....definitely the easiest first. Hope this works. Keep us posted.
