Jacking up the Monty

Is it ok to jack up the Monty to service the wheel bearings with out the TV hooked up. The rear jacks will be in the up position.
Thanks Les

You did not mention model and year. I am guessing you do not have level up.
I will not do it. I feel the front legs could not handle the side thrust when you jack up one side.
Good luck and safe travel.

I do it, only one wheel off the ground at any time, then re install the wheel, and do the next one, by doing one wheel, it doesn't raise the coach at all, or very little, if raising the whole side, best to have the TV connected

I do as Ron does, you could use chocks on the other tire for an added safety factor.

JMHO, but it is much safer to have the TV hooked up whenever the RV is jacked up. With the TV there, the RV can go no where.

I agree with Ron, Dennis, and Tom if you only jack one axle up at a time. If possible, hooked to the TV is the safest. If you do a search, there are all kinds of posts on tire changing. Some are vehement about jacking the whole side up by the frame fearing for axle damage ... as you can see, several of us jack on the axle provided you place the jack under the springs and not out in the middle of the axle. Under the springs, you're only lifting @2500 -3000# and as one previously said, it barely raises the fiver.
