Help - power issue

Hey everyone. We are camping at Ray Roberts Lake State Park north of Denton, Texas. Everything has been great until we started having power issues. We have a 2007 Montana 3400RL. This morning we lost the 120volt circuit in the bedroom/bathroom. I recycled the breaker but nothing changed. This afternoon we have lost the 120volt circuit to the A/C units (front and rear). The 120 volt circuit in the living room / kitchen is ok except for the microwave oven which is dead as well. The 12volt circuits all seem fine as well. I have checked the GFCI outlet in the bathroom and it seems ok as well. Any thoughts or advice?

Thanks,
Chris

I switched from the 50amp outlet at our campsite to the 30amp and the problem went away. I guess one of the phases at the service outlet has an issue or was dropped.

Good thinking! I'd ask for a working 50 amp site or a partial break on your fees to compensate for no 50 amp service.
BTW, even though I'm not a Ford man, that's a sharp looking truck you have there!

Good idea. Thanks for the comments about the truck. Definitely my pride and joy!! I love this silver beast.

It does sound like a campground power problem but also tighten all the connections in your circuit breaker panel. Turn off the power first. Tighten everything including all the ground wires.

It's situations like this that make an EMS system worth the money. It'll tell you when that's the problem.

That's the beauty of a surge guard! Had the samne problem at an Oregon park on our maiden voyage. Bought SurgeGuard and no issues since!

Dick,
I started to post that exact comment then erased it. The EMS would have identified the problem and protected your trailer from any damage.
Good luck.

You didnt say if you were on 30 or 50 Amp, but talked about two ACs. Check every GFCI outlet. Wiring harness can be crazy sometimes. Re surge protection, check out ProgressiveIndustries.Net. Great products.

We were staying at an RV park (generous terminology) at the border of Los Algodones, MX (on the US side). Plugged in and our SurgeGuard shut down the power because one of the 50 amp legs was not connected. Moved to a different site and all was well. EMS can certainly be worth the cost when something goes wrong with the park power!
