Don, I wonder if they rent those things...
Dave, I don't know if they rent that scope, they do have a rental store. If they don't, maybe some other rental store would have it.

If it is in the duct you should be able to find it. If in the attic, man, that could be bad. The fish tape is a good idea. The sectional fiberglass push rods might work well too. Push from one vent to the next and tie a piece of foam on it and pull back through. Home Depot would have them in the electrical section. Wish I were there. I wouldn't have any problem putting a glove on and reaching in the duct to extract it. If in the attic, the only access is through where lights and fans are. That will be a b!tch to put it mildly.

Will, you are exactly right on the positioning of that carcass. I was in the bedroom watching TV last night (as our 32 in Sharp in the LR was trashed by my stupidity and lack of patience waiting for my wife to help me move something - waiting on insurance check) and the smell with the A/C running (record temps - 90° - here in FL the last two days have forced us to use the A/C on a 24 hr basis) was a little too strong to let this pass without some sort of a mild attempt to retrieve this road kill in my ceiling.

I will try to use my camera to take pics with the flash on and see what I can see.

Hey Dave

So what happened to the dead squirrel? Did you find it? Inquiring minds want to know. Maybe you talked Cheryl into going up there to find it and drag it out? Here's hoping you got rid of it and the smell.

The squirrel is now a permanent fixture somewhere in the ceiling of our Montana. Can't smell anything now...

If the smell returns, I would like to volunteer Julie to "fish" it out for you!
