Minor RV Modification this past weekend

I want you all to give me some feed back on my modifications to my rig this past weekend. We were having some visitors, so I felt the need to add to some sleeping quarters.

This actually belongs to a group of German travellers who visit Alaska every year. This bus has both European and Alaska State Plates. The front half is 'tour bus' the back half is 'sardine style, you have more room in a submarine, sleeping bunks.' The basement is the slide out gourmet kitchen designed to feed 25 people.

Well with all the windows, it will let in a lot of light in the summer up there, but could be a problem keeping the heat in in the winter. May also be a it drafty with the tent on the other side. But the mod looks good. Answer me one question, why did you change the color from white to red?

We stay here year-round. This way, we can find the Red RV in the deep snow.

We've seen this rig in the past too. Probably on our way to Montana for our yearly sojourn to see grandkids. It's pretty amazing to see how organized they are both in setting up and tearing down. No time wasted- wish we were that good. But I'll keep our Montana- can't imagine sleeping with the snoring that must go on all night!!!!!!!!!!

I hollered at the wife to pack our bags, we are going to visit Alaska, then I read the part that you really don't own it. Darn!

We actually saw this rig, or one just like it, on Cape Cod (MA) last year. We were at a KOA and the Europeans that were travelling in it all seemed to be having a great time. I was wondering though........in a group that size there has to be one or two loud snoorers. Ha Ha

Isn't it interesting? The thing that I thought was so creative is that they have assingments and the folks were dressed alike in pairs of two (it reminded me of the ark). Some cook, some clean, some do laundry, etc. They appeared to be very efficient and they were very nice and quiet. When they left the next morning, you never would have known there were 25 people on one site.

There are 2 more buses like it and they will be arriving at different times of the summer. I wonder if all the buses are red?

Yup, saw two in KOA Plattenkill, NY. They had just finished tour with Russian tourists and the tour people (2) were cleaning them for storage end of last year (2007). Not sure I would want to do one of those trips...

Just think about it, we could have a rally and only take one rig. Now that would ease the diesel price crunch!!
