Cost Of Detailing Montana

My goal on our 2008 Montana was to do a complete wax job once a year but try to re-wax the front cap at least twice a year. When we got the new Montana I decided to wax the entire exterior twice a year and the front cap maybe an extra time or two depending on how many miles we traveled through the year.

Upon returning last week from our trip my CG neighbor and his wife asked me if I wanted them to wash our rig. I knew they did others in the CG and were known for quality work. I had never heard a price though. When he said $65.00 we jumped on it. They did a great job, right down to washing each window individually. A buddy of mine had them wash/wax his 38' boat yesterday and they did an unbelievable job. The wash/wax team have told me they will wax my Montana for $175.00.

I didn't think I would ever have someone do this for me but I don't think I can pass it up. Has anyone had it done cheaper?

Four winters ago we wintered in the RGV. Two different crews washed and waxed rv's in the park. The rate then was $2.00/lin. ft. wash and $3.00/ft. wax.

Someone in the park contracted one crew, and left for the day. When they returned water was pouring from their rig. It seems they had a hose connected to the black tank flush as well as the one for city water. Well, the detailers unhooked the black hose, connected their hose and detailed the rig. When they finished, they reconnected the black water hose, turned the water on and left!!

After seeing that I did hire the second crew as they bought in filtered water on a trailer for the job.

I would gladely pay the price you were quoted.

While in the Ft. Myers area last winter I heard of some pretty steep prices for wax jobs on bigger Class A rigs. I had a couple different companies come by and try to solicit my business but never got an estimate from them. I will probably put a wax job on it myself this winter while down there. You can only fish so long for so many days and you have to take a break.

The best prices we have found for a wash and wax of the RV is in Yuma, AZ. There are two firms doing it, both come to your site, use RO water (they have a 500 gal. tank with them) and do a good job. Cost is $120 !! if you want the truck done at the same time it is another $20.

The guy in Tucson, AZ wanted $3 per foot for just a wash. I haven't tried to find anyone in the Phoenix area.

We had our Big Sky detailed in Vegas in April for 200.00. They did the roof first and did a great job. They got most of the black dot (artillery mold) off of it and what they left eventually faded substantially. They then washed the entire rig doing the windows and waxed and buffed the entire rig. They made the rig look like it just came off the assembly line except for the crap graphics. But even the graphics shined very nicely.. They came out to the Clark County Shooting Complex where we were workamping and did it on site. We will have it done again when we get back this fall..

For a buffed wax, $175 is cheap

$100 for wash/wax/roof in the Baja. That includes a very large tip for his 6hrs of work. Lucky to get a decent wash for that price in Southern CA.

Those prices beat San Antonio area prices--I paid $260 for wash and wax--and thought it was a great deal. Of course, the drive to AZ/CA will increase my cost to get to the $120 wash/wax deals! After a torn rotator cuff done while waxing my rig--I don't own any wax!

We could make a little football wager Scott, how about if the Bears beat the Packers both games this year you and Sue drive up and wash my rig, if (by some miracle) the Packers win both division games against the Bears Cindy and I will come down there and wash yours.

I told my old boating buddy about my "wash & wax neighbor team". He has a 38 foot houseboat in a marina close by. He hired them to wash and hand wax his boat for around $300.00. His boat never looked so good. In the last two weeks, due to their quality of work and the price, they have done 6 more boats on that same dock! They are thrilled to be getting the work. He is a union construction worker (Operating Engineer) and jobs have been thin lately. What I appreciate, and apparently others do too, is their work ethic and attention to detail.
