You are going to like it! I've had mine done for a while now, and it's working out really well.
The only additional thing I did was to coat each and every connection with a thin layer or RTV silicone to add a little extra insurance against water infiltration. I did the ends of the LED strip itself too. Wherever something was connected to something else, it got coated.
