Bent Springs

Just had our 2016 Montana 3820FK in for inspection. They found springs on right side bent at the eye ends. Don't know how this happened they said could be overloaded and we should put heavier springs when we replace them. Does anyone know what size axles these have gvw is 16800 I would think that would be 8000lbs at least. Have not weighed it yet I will when we get it home.

The yellow sticker near the LH propane door will tell you what suspension you have. Additionally, there may still be a sticker on the axles. The axles also will have a part number and some will even have their capacity stamped on them. Whatever someone elses 5er has may not be the same as yours though they should be either 7 or 8000 pound capacity. A suggestion - when you replace one or two springs, don't stop there but replace all four and add a wet bolt kit if not already installed. A set of three MORryde X-factor cross members will also stop most of the spring hanger flex (dang but I love spending other's money since I've already parted with mine for those items)

I've got a 2008 Montana and I somehow broke one of the leaf springs (okay, so probably too much weight!) I can't seem to find a replacement for the MorRyde suspension whatever. Any ideas?

fdbieker ... you might want to start your own thread, but I'll answer. There are several sites online that can help you ... here's one. https://www.etrailer.com/question-224644.html Lippert Components is another.
No matter who you go with, do the measurement as laid out in the web link so you'll know your dimensions when calling. About any reputable spring and axle shop can make or get you the springs you need. Usually there is a sticker on the back of your axles that state what size you have. Some times it's stamped into the axle tube itself. D60 is 6000# axles ... D70 is 7000# axles ...

Danand Brenda ... when you are figuring what is sitting on your axles, don't forget that there is 2-3+ thousand pounds sitting on your truck or front landing gear that is taken off your axle load. Also unless you pull with everything you and the rest of the family own onboard ... you'll not be near gvw.

I looked up your rv specs and it showed 7,000 pound axles. You have a gross of 16,810 pounds. If you were were at gross then you would be about 3300 to 3600 pounds hitch weight or more. This is the correct axle for your rv as DRV's have some rv's at 19,000 pounds or more with 8,000 pound axles. The only way to not have any more problems with springs is to have I.S. and that's not perfect and around 6,000 dollars. If you add beefier springs you will probably have a rougher ride but maybe worth the trade-off.I would get on some cat scales first then it would give you an idea as to which way to go.Good-Luck.

I'm looking at trailer flex air ride tandem 8000 Lbs each axle seems to be less expensive than MorRyde.
