Finished running the brakeline this morning. There was none too much! At least the way I did it. I think I only drilled 2 holes, one 1/2” hole into the generator compartment, and one clip, the rest I used the existing holes from the Coroplast nails. Tomorrow it gets completed!

Mark - your job looks great. One caution and a lesson I learned after our last trip is to not run a line directly over a spring shackle at the Morryde. Even with heavier springs and a higher trailer I ended up with a partially crushed line to the right rear brake. Repair and line relocation will be my first project (if it ever stops snowing).

Not sure about the plastic ties, they dry out and get brittle, crack and brake. Might want to use a metal clamp.

Thanks, I stayed away from any moving stuff I thought. I'll go out and give it a look in the morning. It's hard to see but the line is right at the very edge of the frame. I'd hate to smash anything now!

Good idea, I'll keep an eye on them. My ties are about 4X what the ones that were provided.

I thought I was well away from moving parts as well. Evidently my calibrated eyeball was out of kilter. The repair wont take very long once the @#$% snow disappears.
If you are using a good brand of heavy black nylon cable ties, they will last for many years as there is some carbon black added for environmental resistance. White ones are at the mercy of heat and light. I used plastic cable clamps though as that is what I had available in my shop odds and ends left overs from my car habit.

Well guys and gals, project complete! Put the rotors and calipers on and bled the system the 1st time. I had my Dad help with the bleeding part. Only 1 fitting I forgot to snug up ��
It takes almost 2qts of fluid to fill and bleed. Don’t run it too long the first 3-4 times or it’ll go dry. Looking forward to the test drive.
Dave, I checked clearances and we’re good to go. Thanks for the heads up. Thank you all for the support! I don’t know why all of a sudden the damn picture is upside down but I guess that’s it.. LOL
I give this project a difficulty level of 8 overall. I’ve done stuff like this a lot and have a lot of tools. It’s not a walk in the rose garden. But don’t let that scare you off, with slightly better than average skills it’s just time and planning.

I bought the 13” rotors with the 9/16” wheel studs. Which gives you the larger outer bearings making your axles 8k rated. The outer bearings and stud size are the only difference in 7k to 8k rating.

Same rotors for both companies, not sure about the rest of the stuff. The spacers that weren’t necessary on mine are from Kodiak. The bearings are meh.. I didn’t use them. Have fun! It’s a great couple days!

Rock auto had the best price. 168.00 for Timken bearings and races. It would’ve been North of 300 locally. And they said USA on them!
