Parts!

In Sept. we had a blow out of one of our back tires, and a couple days before we had another incident. We have been working with a Sam's Club Ins to get the repairs completed. Unfortunately, the body shop has been trying to get the parts for several weeks, and we just got word today it could be another couple weeks! We have been waiting for about 5 weeks to get the parts, and that isn't a guarantee they will be here by then.

We are wanting to get this mishap behind us so we can get to see our twin grand babies in Texas, but can't leave because no one will tell us when we will see the parts here in Florida!!

I am really hoping to get the name of the rep, and the phone number so I can talk to him personally. If anyone can supply me with the rep's name and his office number, I would appreciate it.

I got the same runaround from my ex-dealer. After 4 weeks of bs I called keystone customer service and wanted to to know if there was a parts order in motion and not to my surprise, they were never ordered! All you need is your vin when you call and they will see if a work order has been established by the dealer for your repair. Good luck

that's one of the problems with having a Keystone RV. you must go through an authorized Keystone dealer to get parts. the RV shop that I have work on my Montana has to go through Mike Thompson RV to get some parts for my trailer. in most cases I will got to Mike Thompsons order the parts I need then give them to my RV store to save time.
it sorta stinks.

Our dealer sells brands other than Keystone and they all say order through the dealer.

During the Service Center tour at the Fall Rally, the General Manager showed us the stats that they have a 97% shipping within 3 days of receiving the dealer order for parts. That sounds great but have seen a lot of people waiting on parts. I would definitely call Keystone as mentioned above.

Those stats do not reflect my experience with Keystone and I have owned Montana units since 2002

Does not reflect mine either since 2006. 3 weeks is the best we have ever seen.

It DOES stink! Darn poor business model and customer disservice.

Does anyone have the name and phone number of the rep from the Sept. Rally in Indiana? I would like to go to the source, but don't think I have that info. I will go through the paper work again from the rally, but not sure it is there! Or any number for Montana in Indiana. Missed the customer service tour, or I would have gotten a business card from someone!

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

Well I have to chime in here as we are still waiting for a replacement mirror for the front of our 3160. Warrantee work still not done and dealer can't seem to get a mirror from Keystone. Dealership had at least two of them. On the second try at repainting it was an argument over which dealership lost the mirror. The selling dealership had already lost one. There is still one that the selling dealership paid for but will not give to us because he sold out and Keystone won't reimburse the new dealership for the parts if they were able to get them from the original dealership. What a complete clusterf__k.
Slowly but surely I am doing what Keystone wants by accepting crappy customer service and fixing things myself.

I buy campers and the such out of warranty. I save some money and don't haft to worry about and deal with all of this mess. Just fix it my self then I know it's done right.

What parts are needed? Fenders can come from "ICON" (as I've done and have been advertising in Traler Life). ALuminum Skirting is generic, Suspension parts are Lippert, Scrim available online...

Parts are sold though dealers for several reasons. One they (the dealer) gets a percent kick back on the part. The chance that they can do the install. And it gets the customer in the door. We all know what can happen when we visit a RV or Truck dealer.

Keystone does not have a Amazon size distribution center to stock the thousands of parts for all the Keystone brands. The order process is customer to dealer, dealer to Keystone, Keystone to vendor, vendor to Keystone(sometimes directly to customer) then to the dealer then to customer.

Get rid of the issue that caused the problem, most likely the junk ST tires that came from the factory on your unit. Replace them with Sailun g637 or Goodyear g614 tires and be done with future blowout issues.

I know this does not help you with parts but will help prevent it from happening again.

I know you are new here with 23 post but beeje is right. I’ve been here since 04. The biggest problem with these heavy campers is the tires. Get you a set of G rated tires or this will happen again.

Not one of the E rated ST Chinese tires are worth a ----. Way too many to list by name, but basically anything that came on the units from the factory. Put on G rated 14 ply tires and be done with it.
