Steve, the older Thetfords had two foot pedals, a fill and a flush. You still had to hit the fill a little to get more water in the bottom than the typical amount.
This new SeaLand is great. You can sit down, grab a book, reach down and pull up on that lever until you feel cold , then you know its' ready.

I know this isn't about the type of toilet this thread is about but I can't resist posting here. I solved the problem with my Thetford five years ago. After two cables broke on the foot pedal, I installed a new toilet with a hand flush. No problems with it since.

With our 2008 3400RL, there was a small bag attached to the toilet with a book and an little white emery board. It said to use this on the toilet seal monthly to prevent build up on the seal causing the bowl to lose water... Haven't used the board yet as I have only spent a week in the Monty and now its winterized.

All the above is good info. What does the sign "Releif Attendant" mean? Beautiful picture of your campsite.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed his sign. Gotta wonder it has anything to do with his post. If it is pun, it sure sparked a great exchange of information!

Imagine, a relief attendant who can't hold water in the bowel...makes sense to me.

There are two principles I work with, WAG and SWAG.
WAG is a Wild A#$! Guess. If I read the manual it a Scientific WAG.
Will I get in trouble for this?
