Progressive Industries is my pick. No problems and excellent customer service along with made in the USA. Just remember that if you use a inverter generator (Honda, Yamaha) etc it will show an issue with ground/neutral issue. Just turn it of with your remote and all is good or get a plug with a ground hooked to the neutral and then you won't get a E-2 code.

I highly recommend Progressive. Our 3 1/2 year old 50 amp plug in unit died. Called their customer service, filled out on line form and within a week new replacement arrived. Great product line, A+ service.

Progressive PT 50C since 2006 not a problem. Hard wired or portable your choice.

50A Hard Wired Surge on 3121

Do you have any pictures? Did you remove the power panel and put the surge protector behind it? I want to buy one but was afraid of taking out the power panel and installing it there. Worried I might disconnect something!
