storage container for truck box
Our daughter pulls a fifth wheel and is looking for some kind of secure, water tight container to put in the box of the truck for her emergency supplies (booster cables, emergency kit, etc.). She wants to fasten it to the truck but would like to be able to lock it as well so no one can steal her stuff.
Anyone have something like that? I looked online and could not find anything.
Thanks.

I use a truck tool box that I got at Lowes several years ago. It's a standard dimond plate tool box, but it sits below the sides of the truck and in front of the hitch. It's similar to this one: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-57-i...ol-Box/1059309

Mine's from Tractor Supply also. Holds small Coleman Grill, 50 Amp Extension Cord, Jumper Cables, Ratchet straps, and misc other items.

Check Craigslist too. Usually can find some there for pennies on the dollar.

I have one that sits at the back near the tail gate. Plus, its lower than the height of the hitch so when you unhitch the kingpin slides over the top of the tool box. And, with it in the rear you don't have to climb into the bed to open it. I added some brackets so I have a master lock in addition to the tool box locks.

Not sure how much stuff you want to put in it, but some surplus ammo cans are big enough to hold jumper cables and more. I use a 50 cal can to hold my tow chains and a 100 count 20 mm ammo can to carry a come-a-long and other recovery gear in my Jeep. Other than bolting them down from the inside, I'm not sure how you could mount them securely w/o being stolen.
