New Retiree

At last years Mt. Shasta Rally she said she wanted to be retired by the time this years rally rolls around so we can enjoy time together seeing the country for extended periods of time. May 17th 2007 is set as the date and plans are made to attend the rally and leave directly from there for Glacier National Park.

So, I plan the trip and buy her some nice retirement gifts consisting of two new Honda generators, a parallel kit, dual feed external fuel tank, deep sump transmission fluid pan for the truck as well as transmission temp, boost and EGT gauges.

Then this morning she leaves to visit her mother for a few days and leaves me here to pack! Where did I go wrong?

I hope she makes it back before I leave!

Don, good for you guys. Jackie has 11 months and counting until retirement and then we will also be off to see the world. Best of luck on your travels and enjoy every minute of them. Hope to see you on the road some day.

Congratulations, Don and Claudia! Don, just be glad you will have the opportunity to travel, even if it does mean you do the packing! You realize, of course, Claudia is the smarter one. Now, if you find something was not packed, guess whose fault it is!!

Congrats and I hope you two have a fabulous time. Say hi to everyone at the rally for us.

Congratulations. After my four weeks vacation our secretary asked how the vacation was. My reply, "I am ready to go again." She commented, "John, that is retirement!" Anytime after February 2009.
Enjoy and be safe.

Congrats to you both on your retirement. Been there, done that, it can't be beaten!

I think we met at a Goshen Rally. If I remember right, you are Geochachers (hence "Searchers"). We have recently taken up that activity and are getting a lot of fun out of it. It was probably you guys who first explained it to us. Thanks!

Congrats Don and Claudia! I'm jealous! Many years away for me.

Last time Dory went to her mothers and let me pack, she came out of the bedroom and said "Was there no room for food with all this beer in the fridge? Why are there fishing poles in the closet and Chivas Regal in my drawers, and just WHERE are my clothes!!"

Congratulations Don and Claudia!

Sounds like Claudia is "starting out on the right foot" leaving you to pack up for the rally. Those "retirement gifts" for her sound great.

See ya at the rally.
