Progressive saved us agaiin.
Pulled into a park last night, Progressive would not pass power, bad ground, campground folks claimed pedestal good, told me to bypass the progressive. Manager moved us to a different site. New folks on the original site, warned them, blew me off. Next morning, nothing worked in their rig. Thank you Progressive!

Don't you love it when people won't listen? I would have smiled at them the next day then said something like .... happens when you fail to take advice! John

Try to tell someone that just had a blowout they need to get rid of their Marathon tires. See how far that will get you. Oh well their problem.

This info is just more persuasion for me to buy one off Amazon so I don't have a problem.

Just more proof that you shouldn't leave home without an EMS.

I NEVER plug in without mine. That's the main reason I went with the hard-wired model so I wouldn't get lazy and not use it.

Way to go Mike!
These stories have inspired me to get one.. That and saving the money...
I just installed
My PD with remote, I installed it above the washer & dryer with my Converter, glad I got it. The pictures are not in order, just got Google pictures, haven't figured out how to put them in order on my iPhone yet

One of the first additional purchases one should do along with tires. Amazing how some people refuse to accept good advice from a fellow rver.

Must have been someone who is inexperienced, or just an idiot. If someone gave me a warning like that, I'd be sure to heed the advice. Glad my Progressive doesn't put me in that position. All you can do is try.

Had a similar experience except in this case the C.G owner took me around in a golf cart with my EMS PT50C tracking down the problem till we found it and repaired it.

I check the pedestal before I even pull into the slot. I walk over, plug it in, and take a look. This is the main reason I bought a portable, not a hard wired unit. Well, that and I wanted to be able to easily take it with me to a new rig some day...

I have a hard wired unit and before I plug in I check the post with a tester I made. This might be overkill but it works for me.
Here is a link to the tester I made and use.

Don not to argue with you and I do like you homemade tester but I have one of the portable Progressive units and not a hardwired on. I plug it in and it will tell me in a minute or two whether that post is good or not to hook the Monte up to it. I also have the Progressive unit because there have been many reports of power surges and shortages caused by problems on the camp ground grids and the Progressive units have saved the Monte systems from them also. That is why I've invested in the Progressive unit. I know a few that run without the protection but to me that extra money I spent on the Progressive unit could save me a whole lot more if something happens while I'm hooked up to that post at a campground.

I also use the portable unit and fasten it to pedestal with a heavy duty bike cable lock.

Another reason for testing the post with my tester is because I use a Hughes Autoformer. I insure things are right before making my connections. The autoformer has to be between the post and the EMS unit. I have run across a couple of CGs with low voltage.

I, too, have a Progressive and an Autoformer, but I have the Progressive plugged between the post and the Autoformer. Is this wrong, and why?
