I installed multiple 12 volt cigarette style plugs through out the camper. That way I can use an adapted to covert them to usb if needed or use the old style phone chargers etc.

I installed something similar in the bed of my truck next to the RV plug, its always hot and ready to go !! Even tapped into the wiring and installed led light strips on both sides of the truck with a switch for the lights !!

I put a couple of USB plugs in the bedroom slide so we could charge our phones at night. They are always on the "nightstands" anyway, and the DW did not have a 120 VAC outlet on her side for the wall wart charger. Has worked perfectly for one season now, and wiring was easy as there was 12 VDC under the bed for the reading lamps in the slide.

edit: I tried attaching photos, but for whatever reason they loaded up-side-down, so I removed them! If someone can tell me why that happens I will re-post them.

Trying this picture thing again...

Looks like I got it working! Had to resize the photos down to 800 X 600 and it seems to work now. I use my iPhone 7 in landscape mode to shoot stuff like this and the resulting pictures are pretty big.

Anyway... you get the idea.

BTW, one needs to use the 2.1 Amp plug for iPhones.

Great job. We were lucky as our 2015 3582RL has USB plugs factory installed in the hutch in the bedroom.

Mark7, that's exactly where I installed mine. One on each side. Only mine are cigarette lighter style with an adapter. That way we can plug in the 12 volt fan if needed.

As you look from the bed to the side window they are in the upper open cabinet.
Now they may not have them in a 2012 rig. they are beside the lighter type power port. if you have one of these in the bedroom you can get a device that plugs in and will provide power for the chargers.

this is what i ended up doing with my bedroom as far as charging goes..

in the one you see where i ran the wires under the bed, and the other pic you see where i used the wire tray to route the wires along the wall.

i did it this way to make the plugs easy to access once the mattress is on, as ours is set up for a king size bed, and it would require getting on hands and knees to plug anything in. it would also make it vulnerable to being hit when shoes / hamper boxes were placed under the edge of the bed.
