Can't Wait
We are the proud owner's of a new 2006 3400RL which we bought in late September to get a better deal from dealer. We are in Anchorage, AK and are planning on selling stick home and leaving in the spring or summer. It got so cold so fast this year that we have not been able to have a "Shakedown Trip" as of yet. When the weather gets warmer, Probably May or Jun, we will take it 300 miles north to Fairbanks for it's shakedown trip before we leave Alaska.
We are so excited about it we can hardly wait, but middle of our winter is no time to be out camping, besides, most of CG's are closed this time of year.
The dealer is storing it for us until we decide to pick it up. I know that most of the warranty will be gone by then, but did not want to pay "New" prices for one next year. I guess that's called gambling. But did buy an extended warranty for it if anythig should go wrong.
I enjoy reading all the posts and will continue reading and gleaning good info on what to expect next year.
We will probably settle in Spokane WA next. Having been military for over 20 years we have moved quite a bit. Seems like it gets in your blood. I will say that this is the longest we have been in anyone place since we got married 37 years ago. Have been here for 14 years now. ALL our family, including two married boys, are in AZ or CA. Too hot in AZ and was born and raised in CA but not much desire to go back. We figure that Spokane will give us the best of what we want, REAL 4 season weather and somewhat closer to family.

Welcome and Congratulations on your new 3400RL.
I don't think you could have picked a better place than Spokane, WA. There are several of us owners from the Spokane area that are members of the MOC. 
I'm originally from Rochester, NY. Joined the Air Force. Got out after 10 years. Joined the WA ANG. Retired after 11 years. Worked for Spokane County 35 years and retired. We are new to RVing, just got our 3650RK in July. We just love it. I don't think you could have picked a better coach.

I look forward to hearing all about your upcoming shake down trip, of course as soon as the weather warms up a bit. As Don and Annie said, "I don't think you could have picked a better place than Spokane, WA". It is a nice place to be with lots to do and see. Keep us updated as your "new" lifestyle begins...

DONnANNIE and Montana SKY, It's great that you two are in Spokane. Are either of you going south for the winter or do either of you live in your Montana full time, if so how is it living in it in winter in Spokane? Of course, you might not be having winter yet. Are either of you planning on leaving soon? Which CG do you recommend in Spokane? Many questions when moving to new area......

I spend April 1 - October 15th in my Montana on Lake Roosevelt at 2 Rivers RV Resort. They are open year round, but sorry I cannot be of more help about the winter months. Besides Two Rivers, there are a few other parks in the area that have folks staying all winter long.

So far the temps around here have been 40-50's during the day and mid 30's at night. Jan/Feb are usually the coldest months, can be done with a little prep work for the overnight temps. Hope this helps...

Welcome Phil and Cathy,
I had to laugh as we are in the same situation!!! I'm also in Alaska (Akiachak) and just purchased a new 3400 ('07) but must wait till Spring to use it. I got an amazing deal at Lakeshore RV in MI, where she will stay the Winter. But, I have wonderful pictures to look at during the long, dark and cold nights here (it's actually a toasty 11 above right now)! I'll spend the Summer in the lower 48 before heading North. May you have lots of safe fun!

No we are not going south for the winter. No we don't full time we have a stick house here in Spokane. I retired in Mar 05. We just got our 5er last July, we're newbies.

No, we will be here for the winter. We have family here & Seattle. As for CG's in additions to Montana Sky's list there is a KOA in Greenacres. It all depends on how fancy a CG you want.
