California highway 299 from Arcata to Redding

Anyone driven this route towing 33 feet? Looks like a lot of switchbacks on the map. Not in a hurry, just want different scenery for our trip home.

Yup 299 has a few (well maybe more than a few) tight turns along the way. There also is some construction along the route (but that is true everywhere). There is no problem towing your rig on this route. My friends just took that route with their 40 footers.

Thanks, that's exactly the information I needed. Can't be much worse than 101 south to 20 east to I5 south.

It definitely is worse but just go slow and enjoy the ride. Besides where else can you check the trailer tires as you go past them?

We just took our 42’ on that route when heading to Coos Bay for the rally. Just like others stated, there was some construction, but not too bad of a wait. Definitely some curves, but We just took our time and enjoyed the scenery.
