Flat Panel Articulating Swivel Wall TV Mount

I want to use a slightly larger, flat screen TV in the bedroom and also use the BR TV space for storage. To do so I envisioned an articulating swivel wall mount similar to...

But the price for this model is way more than what I want to pay. Anyone actually using a less expensive solution for mounting a flat screen TV in the bedroom and are you happy with what you are using?

I thought it was ridiculous also...I don't know what will work. Prices for these mounts range from $44.95 to this one at $561.

I'm hoping someone has some actual experience and will share. I'd hate to go with the $44 one and find our LCD flat screen on the floor after a move.

Virgil, I have seen several diffrent models available at Best Buy. The most expensive was $399.00. Personally I wouldn't mess with the cheaper ones, BUT I would not buy a mount made for a 66" inch TV for a small tv, seems like overkill. Should be able to find one mid price and sized for the smaller TV's.

one thing to watch for is can the tv actually stand the bouncing down the road on the vesa mount. most are not rated to do so. might work with a small tv but not with the larger ones. i have seen a change out using the setup that currently holds the tv for bedroom. use the wood frame with a back brace in it for the vesa mount. cut off the tray that the tube tv sets in. someone on the MOC did it, don't know if you could find the thread in the archives.

I bought one of these from Costco for my 15" flat screen. BUT I use it in the house not the RV. I'd be tempted to take the flat screen off the mount when traveling and laying it flat on the bed, if you use all the room in the cabinet for storage. It comes off easily and it's quick insurance. I believe they sell these by the size of the flat panel, so you dont have to do over kill for $561. Mine was about 50 and will take, I think, up to a 17" flat screen. Held on by 2 or3 screws, thus the easy removal.
