Hello

We just recently bought a Montana high country 385BR. I'm looking for any modifications and ideas.

Welcome to the forums. Congrats on getting your new Montana.

The best thing you can do to make modifications is to get the camper out and use it some. The sky is the limit what folks do to their campers. I know, I've probable made a hundred different changes to mine over the last 5 years and there are still small things that creep up which result in yet another modification.

again, the sky is the limit. It really depends upon YOUR specific camping style and no one elses. You may need to install solar if you don't have solar right now and you plan on boon docking. You may need a heavier suspension if you plan on off road camping. You may need a second air conditioner if you camp in extremely hot climates. You may end up getting fed up with the toilet in your camper (for whatever reason) and want to get a new one. A hook here, a shelf on a cabinet there, a light switch moved over there, remove the carpet, install a carpet, replace flooring with laminate, install a washing machine and dryer, switch out the microwave, different tires, swap out your drum brakes with disk brakes, larger propane tanks, any number of things.

All of these things unearth themselves ONLY when you use your camper and as you travel to different locations, experience different styles of camping, and the length of time you are away from home.

But the most important thing you can do initially is to make sure you have good tires. The second is to make sure the roof is sealed real good, that there are no cracks in the calking seams, and if there is, get them sealed up again. Third, is to make sure the windows and slide seals have no leaks. Water intrusion is the death of any RV. This will be your biggest and should be your most conscious awareness you need to never loose site of.

Welcome to the forums and happy camping.

Welcome to MOC. The best mods you can do are the ones you need after you start using your camper.

Welcome to the forums. As far as mods are concerned it would be helpful to know what year your trailer is and what equipment it came with. Also do you dry camp, full hook up, full time?
