Electric Heaters

We have 2 small cube (Holmes)purchase at Home Depot they wer inexpensive on sale late winter like $15.00 high is 1500 Watt low not sure one in bedroom and one in living room they work great.

Sorry, can't belive you guys are talking about heaters. I'm sweating. In any case... We do as Steve R does by balancing our fireplace and propane when we have encountered cooler weather in the past.

On real cool days down here in the valley, we have a tower heater to heat the Monty. If it's going below freezing you must also run the furnace to keep the belly warm. We have a sliding door between the bedroom and the living area. We close it and yes it gets cool up there but it gets real nice in the living area with just the heater. Before we shower and go to bed we then open the door and warm the bedroom up. Also on the heaters be sure to keep the air intake clean as they will get lint in them and restrict air flow and heating.

I posted earlier but thought of an update. Obviously, we are slightly colder weather than most. But we discovered something that might be helpful to others (unless you have a sunburn!!) Our tower heaters have the air intake on the bottom and throw heated air out the top. A digital display tells us the temp. We have dicovered that if we put the heater infront of a furnace vent and suck up the heated furnace air, heat it in the tower heater, it comes out the top much hotter - heating Elly Mae (and us) much faster. So double heat the same air for faster recovery and faster warmth.

We have a Lasko also but model 5521 it does a great job also quiet.
