Gray tank leaks

It seems my gray tank leaks when full. I took the bottom membrane and insulation down today. I can see the tank but it seems to be tight to the top of the plywood basement enclosure. How do I see the top? Do I have to take the carpeting up in the basement and then cut away some of the plywood? Otherwise it seems that I have to lower the tank. Has anyone done this?

You have to lower the tank. I wouldn't mess with it till it got worse, just don't let it get full

I dunno how far it will drop as the drain lines are glued in the top.

It has no doubt separated at the inlet due to the weight of the liquid in the so called holding tank a common problem. You will have to drop the tank to know for sure. Hope you are able to do the repair yourself or have a extended warranty as it will cost you some significant bucks.

I had the privilege of having the top of the black tank crack, overflow, and generally make a mess

I was in NO-where S Dakota and had some time on my hands. I did not know what I would find, so in the basement area above the tank, using a saws-all cut the lines going into the tank so I could drop the tank with lines still attached to the tank top. About 6" stub sticking out of tank top.

Used a epoxy material and fabric bought at the lumber yard to seal tank top and then screwed the board onto the tank top.

Re-installed tank, used rubber coupler things with hose clamps on both ends to re-connect the piping. Used rig 4 more years, no problems.

Was easier to do this than try and replace the tank.

Link to 90 tank repair pics:

Been there, done that, got pics.....

Since them I have discovered Eternalbond tape and it would have worked instead of the epoxy.
