Black and grey tank
We just got back from a short week trip, anyway we go to dump, pull the black valve, and nothing comes out. We pull the grey valve, same thing. We pull the grey valve not in the water closet, and it dumps fine. Open and close the handles, nothing.
I got home and tried, dumped just fine.
Tanks and valves were clean prior to leaving, as I always flush and clean the tanks when I get home.
I saw nothing abnormal in the waste. No #2 was done, single ply paper. Never had this happen in my older unit without the cable pull valves.
I am assuming there was a clog, that after driving a while loosened up.

I usually add enough water to fill black tank at least half full before I dump
|

Are you sure you didn't have an ice plug in the line, the first time you attempted to drain the tanks?

Usually when we know it will only be a couple of days before we dump we use far more water per flush than normal just to build the level in the tank up. Ice plug is certainly a possibility since both tanks wouldn't dump.

Had same issue. Cables came loose and would not open. That was my problem yours might be different!

It was not cold enough for any ice build up. I drove about 30 minutes, everything was fine. I am guessing when I 1st added solution when camped I did add enough water.

Sounds like the best guess. Too much water is never the issue unless you use the flush to fill and get distracted.

I would have to guess a block somewhere that affected both tanks somewhere in the lines cleared when driving, unless both were empty to start. Puzzling occurrence.

I would say a plug if it worked fine later.

We had a flush toilet right by the campsite for #2.
Both tanks were empty to start with.
I had then 1/2 full at home then emptyied them, left the valves open for a hour or so, then closed them up, and went on my way.

Try addin some hot water to the tank if you think it may a ice block. A couple of gallons of hot water should help.
