Water Leak
I read this Forum all the time, and have learned a lot from you people. I now have a question of my own. After I emptied my black tank for the first time this year, I hooked up my hose to the tank sprayer and low and behold water started spraying everywhere. And I mean everywhere. It even sprayed up into my bedroom. I haven't had a chance to drop the cover so I'm not sure what happened. I'm hoping that a hose popped off or something like that. Has this happened to any of you experienced RVers. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I bought a SOB 6 weeks ago and when I hooked up black tank flush the first time water sprayed my storage compartment. I found that the washer for the connection to the flush had never been installed. Maybe your washer is bad?

It worked fine last year. It's a 2009 3400. Someplace behind the panel its spraying badly. I really don't know what I'll get into when I drop the bottom cover to find the leak. I've worked on cars, do most of my own home repairs, but have never worked on a fifth wheel before. It looks like I'm going to have to learn how, though.

Phil, Welcome with a good question and you have a great response--"never worked on a 5th wheel before. It looks like I'm going to have to learn how"--we are all in that boat with you! So with your stated experience--and probably a good set of tools--it will keep you busy. But you will find lots of help right here on the Forum. Sorry I have not experienced that problem yet--hope the solution is simple.

Phil, May be the pressure valve under your bathroom sink (as was in my 2955) or the one inside the pocket door (as in my 3295). Another thought is just a loose connection.

I have a check valve for the black tank flush behind the kitchen pantry. (I have a 3400). It may be possible the connections for this valve have come loose.

Agree on the check valve being bad. Mine had a broken connection and flooded a lot of area. Warranty covered the fix and I got a spare valve to have on hand just in case.

Thanks for all the advice, I'll check that valve. Is it hard to get to?

You didn't mention what model rig you have. The valve is in a different location depending on the rig. The 3400 the valve is behind the pantry wall. We have an access panel to get to it and it is not hard to replace.

Just flooded our basement yesterday. Broken check valve. Located on the 3400 behind the access panel in the pantry. Had to widen the hole with a razor knife to gain access. There is a clamp that holds the water lines in place. The easiest way to replace the valve is to undo both water lines in the basement and slide the valve and water line out the hole enough to work on it. Then slide them back down from the basement. Now if I can only find a new valve this week!!!!
