Question about the Visited States Maps
I have been under the impression that I should color in only the states that I had visited with my 5er. Recently I've noticed a number of members have states colored in that don't connect to other colored states, making me wonder how they got there. Am I wrong? Should I be coloring in all the places I have visited including those I went to by motorcycle, car of airplane?

I don't think there is any rule. My usage is only the states I over night in. So my trip from MD to MA took me through states that I did not over night so I left them blank.
Use it however you want. I makes a nice conversation piece.

Your Choice...If I look in the rear view mirror and note a 5th wheel attached to the truck we must be rv'ing otherwise why would it be there. That would mean we are rv'ing in that state,It gets colored overnight or not.

I`m going to get a map, I don`t have one yet. We have been in all the states and stayed in RV~s in most. But we will only be adding the 28 states we stayed in the Montana that we put the map on.
At least one night.

If we travel thru a state, it gets counted on the map.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to keep doing it the way I have been. If the 5er's in tow it counts.

Everyone does their own thing. We (spouse and myself) decided that in order to paste a state map in we must sleep in the state. That's not a rule of any kind. It's just our desire. Do what you want to do.

If the wheels of the Montana touch the state, we get the "sticker". On this last trip from middle of August until October we accumulated 27 states. From California to Bar Harbor Maine and back for the fall foliage colors.
