Another dealer gone
It looks as though Beaudry RV in Tuscon has finally closed forever. We're sorry to see them go. Beaudry was once a power in Tucson with car dealerships and the RV dealership. We bought our Montana from them and were always happy with their service.

Bummer! They were a good source for Montana parts in AZ. Do you know if this closure also affected the RV Park they had?

According to what they are saying on rvnet it closed yesterday.
Such a shame.

True story. In the early 70's, I was stationed at DM and had a neighbor that worked as asst service manager at Beaudry's RV dept. He hired me part time to do light maintenance. Had a customer come in with a broken rear brake line on a GMC RV. Parts had none in stock and it would take 3-5 days to get a replacement. The couple was distressed as they needed to be on the road to a wedding. I had the solution and I proceeded to an identical unit on the lot, cannabalized the line and told the service manager the problem was solved and the couple was elated. I'm sure glad someone was happy, because they (Beaudry) fired me on the spot.

Sorry to hear of Beaudry closing, although I don't share the enthusiasm for their service department. The service writer I dealt with was the most rude, arrogant, deliberately non-helpful individual I have ever dealt with.

Don't think Beaudry has reopened. We drove by one of their lots in Tucson a few weeks ago and it was empty. Sad!!!

McClain's RV recently closed their store in McKinney, TX. It was not a really large store, but did keep quite an inventory of units there. They have other locations that I believe are still open.

We got some service from their Tucson dealership a number of years ago. A good experience. I see their San Diego / San Marcos dealership in California is now Camping World rather than Beaudry. In fact, that's where our tire blowout damage was repaired earlier this year.

We came through Tucson on December 11 and stopped at Camping World for a few items. I asked one of the parts guys at CW about Beaudry and they said that Beaudry went under. They've closed down everything according to CW. The RV resort in the back is closed also. Looks to me like someone could buy in and reopen another good RV service place.

I think Freedom RV will be a good alternative to Beaudry in Tucson. There is also a new dealer from Phoenix that opened in Tucson (name escapes me). My experience with Beaudry service last year led me to believe it was just a matter of time before they failed. Long time employees were the ones left after lay offs, bad attitude, not responsive to customers.

Gee, my experience in 2004 was just the opposite. I came in from Blythe, CA with a broken slide and although they were booked up for the next three weeks, they got us in and made the repairs (not under warranty). Then when we went to pay for the job ($3400), they said, "Oh, by the way did you know Keystone paid for the whole thing?" They had taken the trouble to send pictures of the damage to Keystone and we were the recipient of both good service and a job well done, plus Keystone going to bat. Beaudry certainly did not have to go to the trouble of taking pictures and sending them to Keystone.
I think we will find pros and cons with almost every business. The only RV business that I've found in my life of RVing that goes to bat for the customer every time is Ketelsens RV in Hiawatha, IA.
