De-Winterizing the Monty

This is prob a stupid question, but how do i go about de-winterizing my monty? its a 2010 326 rlt. I would assume that i put the annode back into the water heater, turn off the bypass valce in the convenience panel, and just fill up the fresh water tank and just let it run through all the lines until clear water is out? Is there something that i should put into the fresh water tank to clean the anti-freeze out? or will flushing the system do the trick? I had my dealer do the winterizing and its my first year with a 5th wheel. Thanks for any help.

Don't let water get back into the hot water heater until you've cleared all the anti-freeze from your water lines. Otherwise you'll get anti-freeze in the WH.

I think there's a video on Keystone's web site that deals with un-winterizing.

I add a little bleach to my fresh water tank and flush out the tank a couple of times.

I add some bleach to the fresh water tank, fill to maybe a 1/4 tank, pump it through the system to get the water/bleach mixture to all fixtures. Let it set like overnite, then flush everything with fresh water, both from the fresh water tank and the park water inlet. I do the fresh water flush several times. This is my proceedure, been doing this on two previous SOB TT and plan to use it on the Monty shortly when the weather breaks as we're suppose to be in the twentys this weekend.

It’s almost time for that again! Yippee!!!

When do you de-winterize?
I suppose depending on where you live it may be getting close. For us, I generally wait until mid or late April after there isn’t going to be any more freezes.
To address the Original question… As already mentioned; I would flush the lines out first before allowing any to get into the water heater.

I went to Keystones website and downloaded the manual for my trailer. Here's what it says. Do not operate the water heater or plumbing system. Drain all Tanks fresh water and sewage. Fill fresh water tank with water and open cold water valves at the faucets and run until clear water runs. Repeat for hot side. Flush toilet until clear. Drain everything and then sanitize system. To sanitize use 1/4 cup of chlorine bleach to 1 gal of water for every 15 gallons of tank capacity. Add solution to tank and fill with water. Open each faucet and let it run until you smell the bleach. Let unit sit for 4 hours. Drain system and flush with fresh water until chlorine odor and smell is gone. If you have a water filter installed, don't forget it. Now you can open and fill the water heater and ready to go.

If you have air tank adapter for blowing out the water, I would do that first, blow out all the lines, then follow DaveandDoris post. Might save you some water.
