It's probably the check valve at the outlet of the water heater.

Ozz has a nice slide show on how to replace it.

What about the hot water elsewhere (kitchen, or outside shower)? If it fails at these places, too, I would suspect the HW check valve since this supplies the whole rig. It does sound like a pressure problem.

If this is just in the bedroom, I'm out of ideas, but my thoughts are that's because I would suspect a specific problem with a specific plumbing line and that is gonna be a mess to debug. A better plumber than me is gonna be needed for that one.

OK reopening this, I cleaned the check valve had junk in it. Im still getting sounds of air in the lines on the hot water side if standing outside you can hear the air in the hot water tank. it does bleed out after a minute. Where is this air coming from? Any ideas?

That may be the sound of slag and sediment in the tank. If it is an issue, and it probably is, (May be clogging the check valve) drain the tank, flush it out real good, check the element, it probably is covered with calcium deposits.. When we started preparing for this trip, I changed the safety release valve (pop-off valve) heating element and drain plug. Inexpensive insurance.

Yea Ive flushed it pretty clean, gonna flush again. Cold not an issue just the hot just cant see where or how it could air in the tank
