Disc Brake Install

How much should a Kodiak Disc Brake system installation cost on a 7000k axel - Dealer cost and Do-It-Yourself cost?

I'm working from memory, which has gotten worse as I age, but it seems to me the brake units themselves were around $450 per axle, so $1800 for them, plus the actuator - which I can't remember, and the brake lines, which shouldn't be much. My guestimate would be around $2300 total for a DIY. Probably at $1000 to $1200 for labor.

While in Goshen for the rally, or the day after, I am scheduled to have disc's installed at Mor Ryde. My quote is $2695 plus $100 for a cam module if needed. Price is all labor and materials. I'm also having the X factor suspension upgrade. The price is $495 plus $240 labor. I'm hoping a 10% rally special discount can be included in there somehow.

If you don't go with the high end finish on the rotors and calipers and check around several websites that offer the disk brake kits, line kits, and actuators ... it can be done at home for just a bit over $1800. An RV doesn't need stainless parts like a boat trailer does. A couple of websites have significant sales on the actuator pump assys from time to time.

Thanks for the info guys. Will have to put this on my wish list for next spring. Retiring in 48 days (not that I am counting) so next spring I will have nothing but time, just hope I will have the money. But then again that's what the wife is working for...right?
