Sounds like you have had a fabulous trip,

We stayed in Norman OK, fairgrounds I believe. Nothing fancy, but, sufficient for a few nights. Course, it helps that we have good friends there.

Have a safe trip home!

We always stop overnight at Ft Amarillo RV Park, first exit on the western edge of Amarillo, behind Gander Mountain Sports. Nice place with all pull thrus for about $28 if I remember right. Close to shopping and restaurants.
Read a recent post where someone had overnighted free at the Texas Travel Information and Rest area in Amarillo and was commenting about how nice, clean, and safe it was with free wifi. No hookups though.
In OKC, we stay at KOA East, $44 with card. A little ways out of town (about 8 miles) but still easy to get to OKC downtown. Bombing Memorial and National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum are both worth a visit while there.

Bobby,
While in Amarillo don't forget the free limo to the Big Texan Steakhouse, home of the free 72 oz. steak. Just ask in the park office

Bobby, there is Palo Duro Canyon 30 min. south of Amirillo off hwy 27. Pretty nice State Park and the Campground is down at the bottom of the canyon. Very nice cg with fhu's. $31.00 per night. We went there with our 39' and had no problems. One thing to look at though is that its a 10% grade down in the canyon, but not very far. Easy going down, low gear up all the way but very doable.
