12 volt basement outlet

The 12 volt outlet in the basement has no power. Has anyone had a problem, and a solution to this? How do you access it to repair it, etc. It had worked for a year, and then just stopped. Thanks!

I would first check the fuse panel, sounds like it is something simple. Not sure what rig you have, but on ours the entire panel in the basement that the outlet is on is held on by screws which can be removed to allow access to the rear of the panel where the outlet is mounted. Check the wire connections there as well. Keep us informed for future reference purposes plese.

Perhaps someone with a 3400 will chip in (our old one did not have the basement outlets) but I am not sure if that is a dedicated 12v run to the basement. If it is, you can also check the connection on the back of the fuse panel as well. I do know that at times I would have troubles with fuses seating in the panel. They would not light up (led above the fuses which indicates an open circuit), but if I went through them one by one and removed and reseated them, most of the time any 12v problems would be resolved. I would also check the wiring for any obvious wear points where it is visible. Last resort is to simply make another wiring run to the outlet provided the outlet itself checks out okay. The outlet can be checked by removing it and checking it with a known good 12v feed (direct from the battery is one alternative for checking only). As a precaution isolate the battery from the circuit if you are going to be checking the connections on the back of the fuse panel. Keep us posted with what you find.

I think OZZ has a 3400 and I am pretty sure he could probably give you some sound advise on the subject.... Just need to start bugging it out backward and see where you get juice at... JB

Make sure the outlet is Grounded....you might have to actually route a ground wire to the metal framework...

Bingo

We also have the 110 and TV cable connector, ours was made 4 days before the 2008 model change.
