12-Volt Septic Tank Valves

A while back someone asked about 12-volt valves for the holding tanks. It was mentioned by someone else that they wouldn't want them because if they lost all 12 volt systems, they wouldn't be able to dump. That is not true. A good friend of mine had them installed on his motor home and just like the 12-volt system we have for the front stabilizing legs and the hydraulic pumps on our Montanas, there is a mechanical backup for the 12-volt gate valves also. It would certainly be a dire problem if there wasn't. So, if you're so inclined to get the 12-volt valves, go for it.

Orv, I have two bad shoulders, making this act quite an effort. I am quite sore afterwards. I do feel this is a small price to pay for this lifestyle. However, if there was something electrically that would work, I would pay for it.
