Fireplace removal

I removed mine to fish some coax cable from my Sat. thought I would show how easy it comes out, so you can troubleshoot it if needed, you can see the cavity, it has 4 screws covered by wood plugs, then the glass comes out, you have only Two screws holding the metal fireplace frame in, then.........out it comes.
The unit plugs into a dedicated circuit for the heater and light in it. (You could plug a cord in and run it over to your desk and have another outlet for your printer or???)

Rodney,
I wake up at 3:00 in the morning worrying and obsessing about everything, when we had our business going full speed, I was going 90 miles an hour, we had the HVAC, electrical and restaurant repair contract in the Greater Kansas City Missouri and Kansas areas, for Brinker Internationals Chili's and On The Border stores.
I went 14 years with no vacation, on call 24-7, 365.
I burned out and sold the business, now I have to have something to fill my time, just can't turn it off so easily.
I love shopping for things for the Monty, before that, the Keystone Sprinter, then installing them.
No pressure, I enjoy it. When we travel, I help others with their repair problems, and I do relax.
Sue and I like meeting nice people, like you guys here on the MOC Forum, hope I'm not being a pest.
Take care, Ozz

...not a pest at all...I'm taking notes...

I have a trailer rather than the 5'er like most of you, but I still pick up a lot of ideas (and a few concerns).
Very good info here to be shared for sure...

Ozz,

I noticed that you have a 2K Honda Generator and a second coming. How do you hook up to your trailor? I assume you will carry them in your TV. Do you worry about anybody stealing them? I am going back and forth between two Hondas and a 5.5 Onan. I really hate the weight penalty of the Onan in my storage area...and it is also all pin weight.

Ozzie, Thanks. I like your Pup, go to K.C. Star newspaper's web pages and read one of their columnist's stories about his hunting dogs, he is brilliant. His name is C.W Gusewelle. His dog Rufus was the subject of a great book; 'The Rufus Chronicle' you can listen to some great short stories by clicking on them at the web page. One of my favorites is 'They aren't like us'. A funny column he wrote about rich, beautiful people.

Mike, I will carry them in front, I plan on wiring back to the breaker box area and installing a transfer switch.
There have been people who made Aluminum enclosures for generators from tool boxes, the beauty of the Honda's is the twinning kit, you can only use one if a small power load is required. I think the Onan is slick, and may be a great way to go. If I had the money, I would have a built in Propane powered generator. Since I have one Honda, I guess I'll go that way.
I have a big EM 5000 electric start, I am trying to sell to get the second Honda 2000 and twinning kit.
Good luck

Hey, that might work. Only if you leave that beautiful truck with me so I can run parts with it.
Yea, I thought that might be a deal breaker........
You must come down to South Padre Island this winter, I will be there taking the pulse of the Island.
I ride my bicycle up South Padre Blvd. to the Wanna Wanna beach bar, then back down to Boomerang Billy's. Once I find everything OK there, I wobble down to the Dolphin Bay's Oyster Bar, sit on the concrete stools, read all the license plates on the ceiling, (6 from Missouri) and listen to Bad renditions of Bob Marley's hits.
About 6 miles after riding around the County campground at the beach. Just a little slice of heaven. As I'm riding along, I catch myself saying "Man I really love this place".
I'll post a picture.

Yes, I kinda liked that one too!
Boomerang Billy's beach bar. There are only Three beach bars there on the Gulf side, they are Grandfathered in, no more to be built. I understand there was a beach bum, (makes a god story, could have been a beach businessman) that was known for his Boomerang throws on the beach, he bought the bar and the name stuck.
South Padre Island.
