There was a previous thread on the vacuum system (initially concerning the floor brush). Here is a link to it
http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=15725

Turns out the vacuum is manufactured by InterVac Design. They have replacement bags and filters available on their web site.

OntMont also reports you can buy the replacements at Home Hardware stores in Canada. Sounds like a good excuse for a road trip.

Thanks, Sue and Carl.

Rich, if you find a suitable extension, please report back. Ours will no doubt be the same as yours.

My guess is that it is "one size fits all" in regard to the hose length. In the larger units it is a stretch. If I can find a extension I will report back but the report by Sue is encouraging.

From the vac website

Pair up your InterVac unit with our high quality accessory kit and vacuuming just became a breeze! Choose a 30' crushproof hose or the easy-to-use 40' stretch hose that shrinks to just 8 feet when stored and is great for quick clean ups! Also included is a combination bare floor/carpet tool that picks up lint and cleans close to the baseboards, a dust brush, crevice tool and upholstery brush with a removable brush, and one piece telescopin aluminum wand that can be adjusted to various lenghts for a custom fit every time.

I wonder which of these hoses we have..I don't think it is the 40 foot one as that would be plenty long enough????

From the intervacdesign.com website. FAQ

My hose is too short. Can I get an extension?

Yes, you can purchase 10’ extensions

Seek and ye shall find...

Rich, in your search for an extension or longer hose and the comment about the 40' stretch hose... this is from the FAQ on the intervac site...
---
I like a standard central vacuum hose. Why do you sell the stretch hose?

Each hose has its own merits. With standard central vacuum hose you get full suction power, lighter weight but it is inconvenient to store. With the stretch hose, it is quick to connect, making it ideal for high traffic areas and quick clean ups, and it shrinks to just 8’ so it is simple to store, but is reduces suction power.

I've got the feeling we have the stretch hose and reduced suction power..Would like to see what the "standard" hose looks like. Another quest... I will go out to the camper in the Am and see if I can find a clue..If that hose is 8 foot long then it must be the stretch hose???

The vac in the Montana's is not the intervac..it looks the same but it is not. It is the Dometic Model # 9192100 Flush mount and can be seen here http://www.dometicusa.com/microwaves.php?product=82 the hose length is listed as 8 foot to 30 feet.

Hi Everyone,
My husband and I picked up our 07 3400 RL on June 6th. Dealer forgot to include vacuum. maybe this was good, so I can do research. Any input would be of great help. Brand?? Where and how to install?

Thanks
Cathy in La.
We were looking at MontegoBay 5thwhl toy-haulers last weekend and they had DirtDevil central-air canister systems installed. We've always had good luck with their portables and the dealer said they've had no issues at all with these.
