Yet Another New Owner Item Check

I was talking with a new Montana owner at the lake the other day ... smelly stinky around the central vacuum. I mentioned changing out the vac filter bag for starters. We pop off the lid to check the filter bag and "behold" ... there sat the filter bag still in its wrapper, instruction manual, and installation bag of goodies amongst all the nasty's that they had been vacuuming for the past 2 months. Soooo ... new owners might want to check to see if the vac bag was even installed before you picked up your new fiver.

We didn't have ours installed when we bought ours. Probably not on whatever meager check list the dealer has.

Well, we could have had that same problem but ours wasn't plugged in to the outlet provided for it inside the cabinet.

Ours was not installed either. On our first weekend trip while sweeping up a bit of dirt tracked into our unit I was going to use the vacuum dustpan. I decided to check and make sure the bag was installed and the vacuum was actually ready to use. Sure enough I had to actually prep it as the dealership conveniently forgot to do it. With out the bag installed you can ruin the motor by running dirt through it. Some have an extra small piece of media to help prevent the motor from being ruined.
It is to bad that a lot of the dealerships do not seem to do great work while prepping the new units.

Ours WAS installed. Must have been on our dealer's 3 page check list. Remaining proud of our dealer and his intense PDI !

Dave I wish there were more dealers like yours. It is actually very nice to hear that customer service is still alive and doing well in some places. Those are the kind of dealerships that get repeat business.

Our dealer also had installed ours. We were very happy with the PDI done on our unit.

Not installed on ours either but they had used it to vacuum up obviously as the canister had all kinds of dirt in it I had to empty and then wipe out before installing the bag.

Walt ... any vac will vac bag or no bag. There is still room in the housing for debris along with the bag and manual.
