Central and South Utah
Tomorrow, once again we will be a menace on the highways, headed south from Salt Lake. Plan on stopping at Fillmore if I am tired, if not, Beaver Utah. What should we see in that area?
Are all the beautiful canyons and areas south of there?
Thanks in advance for the tips!
Ozz, Sue and the cats.

Yes the beautiful canyons are south of Beaver. Don't know if they all are but some of the best which is Bryce Canyon and Zion National park. Glen canyon is a nice area also.

Ozz it is only another hour to Cedar City, UT. Would recommend the KOA there and we normally do not recommend KOA's. We stayed in the other cg in town, but had to go to the KOA to do wash. Price was the same for each CG. Strangely the price for two weeks was about $25 more than a month so stayed two weeks and paid for a month. If I remember right it was about an hour to Zion and about one and half hrs to Bryce. Of course diesel was a lot cheaper 3 yrs ago. We found lots to do to keep us busy for two weeks.

If you mean Beaverdam, between St George and Mesquite Nv. The DW and I were assistant managers at Chief Sleep Easy in Beaverdam Nice Park freindly. Their is new managers now so don't know how they are, the snowbirds that live their in the winters are great. Mostly atv's AS was said above the Canyons are great. Some hiking trails in the area,Old town Santa Clara on the edge of St George Ut. Vegas is about 90 miles, the vegas speedway and Carrol Shelby Museum is beside it. Pawn Shop that is on tv is there. Thats about all I can speak for. Good Weather in the Winter maybe a little hot now still around 100 deq. Enjoy

Ozz,
Unless you have some pressing reason to travel south on I-15 I'd suggest you go east on I-70 until you intersect hwy 89. Then go south on 89. There are a lot of little towns along that route and much better scenery than on 15. By taking 89 you will be en-route to visit Bryce Canyon NP. Anyway that is my suggestion. Happy Trails. Dennis

South Utah has great National Parks--Bryce and Zion. Each are unique and worth a visit. This time of year the weather can be close to winter to fall like--depends on the weather fronts. The higher altitude makes the difference. Further south is Glen Canyon and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (better check to make sure it is still open). This is one of our favorite areas--been there several times since our daughter lives in SLC. Email if you need specifics or check out our trip journal for details of our travels.

Thanks! Since I am still on the mend, I don't know how long I can drive, so I chose Fillmore as a stop if I am wore slick, and Beaver if not. My pain is gone but I am still having the unpleasant side effects from the Cipro and the Metho???? stuff, 500 MG's each 3x a day.
Dennis, I will look up that route. Appreciate the tips.
