night time commode use ... avoids bright light

Hi, here is a little ditty on how to avoid the bright lights that wake everyone when you feel the need to use the commode at night on newer Monty.
when you turn on the commode room light at the wash basin, you all know that you can turn on two DC lights, one in the hall and the other in the room. We replaced the lamps in the hall with small blue ones, available at Wally World. They are slightly smaller in diameter but the electrics hook up ok.
Next we replace the single DC lamp fixture in the commode room with a Model 312 dual dome light by "Lighting by thin lite". The lamp switch has three positions ... off, one lamp, both lamps. Wirings is obvious and this is a flat mount fixture ... not sweat.
Next we removed the 1147 lamps and installed 96s for lower light level. Finially, we painted the inside of the cover of the lamp that comes on first with blue model paint.
now, we get a soft blue glow when we turn on the light to go at night and if you need more light, once the door is shut, you can flip the switch to turn on the second lamp at the fixture.
your partner will appreciate this and they say that it is easier to go back to sleep only seeing blue light.

I ain't shutting that potty room door from the inside ever again! We turn the wall switches ON, then turn the lights off at the ceiling, I am just all enough to reach, turn it on, turn it off, but, smaller lights sounds kinda good (only in the potty room tho-- personal choice)

We have just left the switch on outside and use the switch on the ceiling to turn the light on and off, works well for us. The only ploblem is when visitors come in the evening and try to turn the light on and one has to remember to switch it back for them. Diana

We use a simple push light with batteries inside the commode room so we don't have to worry about the installed switches. Just close the door and push the round light. It even turns itself off.

We turned the hall light off at the ceiling and just use the switch for the bathroom light - At night (if needed) we hung a mini flashlight on one of the hooks. Not so bright and easy to use (within easy reach).

I bought a couple of "night lights". We have one in the bathroom and one in the living room if one of us needs that drink of water in the middle of the night.

I stuck a tap light on the lid of our trash can. Simple yet effective.

We just leave the light on in the little potty room.
The skylight givesn us enough light to get up by, thanks to a strategically placed yard light on a pole about 75 feet away
