New 3850FL

Has anyone seen one of these yet? Looking at the floor plan I like the layout. It's much like my 3750FL but my question is; with the back door located on the opposite side where's the waste tank discharge?

Looks to me that it should be pretty much the same place as most others.

I have to disagree. There is no way it will be under the steps. too far back. On this model it looks like it will be between two slides about where refer is.

We have sat in and checked out the 3850 at the Tampa RV Show as we also liked what we saw on the web site. We liked and considered buying the display model 3850 Front Living that was at the show as we liked most of the features of the 3750, but not the walk-throuch bath. The 3850 has the stand-alone bath that is not a walk-through, but they redesigned the placement of the refer and closed off a portion of the interior view from the front living area. We bought the 3725 display model at the show as we believe it meets more of our wants with respect to floor plans. For us the extra backdoor on the 3850 is a nice feature, but did not add a benefit that we wanted. For us the sewer discharge placement was not an issue and we did not check it out, but I'm sure it all runs down hill and comes out on the street side. We enjoyed our search for a new Montana, and wish for you a happy search.

I have not seen one yet. The most common location of the drain is in front of the wheels, between slides. But with all the water usage devices located rearward of center it may well be near that door. But I would expect it to be to one side or the other, not under the steps.
But another factor is that we have been in a number of sites (maybe 1-2 out of every 10) where the park sewer pipe was located toward the rear of the site. And that would put that pipe near where that door is located. Might take some trailer location adjustments to get the door away from the pipe.

I saw one of these today at my local Camping World. I did NOT like it, and that's coming form a guy that already owns a front living room. The back door makes absolutely no sense to be on the utilities side. Most places I go, I'd be walking into my neighbors site. More importantly, the entire dining room, kitchen and living room felt much more cramped than in my 3750FL. Because the kitchen slides out instead of the dining room table, it really doesn't leave much room in the kitchen to move around. The front living room is more boxed in because of the placement of the fridge also. I think that model is a mistake, BUT I do know different people have different tastes.

Since the bathroom is behind the axle and the kitchen is just above it, I'd guess that it is somewhere near the rear of the roadside door. Probably not far from the axle to prevent damage on rough ground.

We went to see the new 3850 at the Spring Tacoma Show.My DW said pretty much about the feeling cramped part about the 3850 and didn'tloke some of the other parts of the layout.. The door placement was ok, but we like the idea of the door directly into the bathroom.
We looked at it right after we made the deal on the 3750, just in case we might want to change. We are very happy with the 3750.
