I have a Duo-Therm model 3101121 Heater kit that is brand new, unused, (just received it today 10-14-2005). I purchased it to install in my Duo-Therm ceiling unit on my 2005 Montana. Tried to install it and found that my particular model AC has the control box that DOES NOT have the heat strip option available. (My ceiling unit appears to be a 900XX series unit and it's the remote control model)
This particular heater kit is described by PPL Parts Superstore as being a "universal heat strip" for Duo-Therm AC's. Obviously it's somewhat less than universal.
The included instruction manual says it's for model series 579XX, 590XX, 59516, 60XXX, and 61XXX air conditioners. New Duo-Therm 13,500 and 15,000 BTU ceiling AC's are listed as 57915 & 59516 respectively, so this heat strip would work on both of those units.
I just paid $49.95 (sale price) plus $7.95 shipping for this. I'd like to get $45.00 and I'll pay the shipping to CONUS via USPS.
BTW I'd simply return it to PPL, but they don't accept returns on electrical components. I guarantee it to work as long as you install it in one of the listed AC's.
