Real world experiences (OOPS)
In the vein of keeping everyone informed, I am quickly learning the do's and definitely the don'ts associated with our Montana. Here is a brief summary of the 9 hour pull to Myrtle Beach on the 5th of July and the following week.
July 4th - decide we want to take a frozen cut up rib-eye with us so a trip to the storage lot is in order to turn the propane and fridge on to get the freezer ready for the trip. A quick look shows the camper is not level so into the access door I go to level the camper. OOPS not enough extension room. Blown fuse at 7:30 p.m. on the 4th. Quick trip to Advance, store still open for 5 more minutes (WHEWWW), now have 5 extras, back to storage lot to finish what I started.
July 5th - arrive at CG and begin set-up. DW and kids of course are excited and keep interrupting DOD (dear old dad) during set-up. OOPS forgot to unhook brake cord and emergency cable. Pull out and hear something in bed of truck, STOP!! Got lucky, brake cord was wrapped around Coleman grill and I heard it scooting across the truck bed. No damage done, emergency cable pulled loose, simple fix, put back in.
July 11th - DW calls DH at work to inform him of leak under shower. Don't know details but she said it coming from where the top surround, tub and enclosure meet. Will be there tonight with them (Vacation finally!!!) to investigate tommorrow. Will keep everyone informed as to leak cause. What I learned: don't fret the mistakes, they will occur, this life we live is too enjoyable to let the small things worry you. Sorry for the lengthy diatribe.
