Emergency Road Service
Does anyone use Good Sam's ERS? Is it good or are there better services that cover RV's as well as other vehicles?

Camping World and Good Sam ERS are both good, both owned by the Affinity Group.

We use the Good Sam ERS --- had to use it twice on the way south this year -- great service - would not be without it.

We went with Good Sam ERS. Previously had AAA. Good Sam covered all of our vehicles for single cost while AAA charged per family member covered. Have had to use the service twice and found that customer service was responsive.

I am a member of Good Sams and Escapees. After comparing, I decided to go with Coach-net, recommended by Escapees. I am satisfied that both are excellent, but thought Coach-net had a little edge on service and price. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Coach-net covers all your vehicles and all the drivers in your family still in school and living at home. I have used the service twice for blowouts out in no man's land. They found me and provided service as advertised. You can check them out at http://coach-net.com/.

You only need it once and it pays for itself. Both Good Sam and Camping World ERS cost about $80/year. We've gotten our money back several times over.

Like Mark we had AAA and Good Sam. Decided to give up AAA and stay just with Good Sam. Over the years we have used GS several times and response and service were excellent. Can't imagine not having them. We have missed out on discounts a couple of times not having AAA but not to the extent of the annual fee. We use to keep AAA because they would handle DMV stuff for us but now we can do it all on the internet. And once in a while we have to buy a paper map.
Happy trails.......................

We have Foremost. Very impressed with their track record, coverage and pricing. Have not had to use them yet. So I can't give any experience.

I quit AAA several years ago when they told me they would no longer change tires on duallies or tow duallies and no changing of trailer tires either. I went with Good Sam's ERS. They will tow truck to closet dealer and camper to closest campground. Change any tire, jump, fuel service, lockout etc. Only thing ERS is strict on is that you must have their ERS card and number with you whenever and wherever you need them.

Thanks for all the responses! I haven't had experiance with any ERS but with persistant back problems, I think it would be a good idea just to have for tire changes. I need something that covers all vehicles to make it worthwhile because we're not retired so don't RV that much yet.

kmh3212,
I guess the AAA must be different in different parts of the country. We use them and have for years. Just this past summer we had to have both a trailer tire and an inside dually changed. Absolutely no problem. If and when I change it will probably be to Good Sam's stuff.

Hamrad, wasn't that AAA that said they would not tow your 5ver if there was need? Also, something about having to pay out of pocket sometimes? Need clarification on this, but I'm sure it was AAA people were bailing out on due to some issues.

We have ERS and quite happy with it. Used it 2 times last year. Had to have the truck towed into a Ford dealer because of the diesel fuel here in the valley and was charged 40 dollars more. Even if cost me more it was worth it taking it to a Ford dealer. Even having that problem,I still would recommend ERS.

We have used Good Sam ERS since the beginning of RV time. We've had to use it twice and both times it was excellent. Like many others, we wouldn't be without it.

We had a trailer tire go out on us in Montana and truck tire blowout in California. Both times no problems same good service. But I will check with them to make sure my coverage is good in all states.

I have Coach-Net roadside service. It covers EVERY vehicle I own, plus EVERY trailer I own. It covers the "owners" not a specific "vehicle".
