Back from 7 week 5000 mile trip

We got home on Friday from our trip from Ontario to Key West and back. We went via Fort Wilderness (16 days), stayed 14 days at Blue Water Key (fabulous) we spent 2 nights on the way home at the Great Outdoors which was very nice but I felt very impersonal, felt that I was sitting on my driveway rather than on a camp site. We would use it again as a stop off as its so close to I95. We checked out the Hilton Head RV and Yacht Club for one night, we will return there then we were off for 5 days to Willow Tree Resort at Longs (SC) from there KOA south of Washington DC from there 500 mile drive to Verona NY where we stayed at Turning Stone RV resort. Our Montana behaved very well indeed. We had a couple of small problems which our Dealer will look after, one being the Convection Microwave was not working when we arrived at our next to last stop, we think that is probably due to the fact it has come unplugged due a few rather nasty bumps in the road. The other is our shower leaks a bit but not too bad. We were very impressed while in Key West, which is an area where one can be taken financially. We found a nail in our rear tire and we had lost 30lb pressure. Called a firm in the Yellow Pages, they came out to the site on a Saturday afternoon, took off the tire, found the leak, plugged it and charged us only $40. We had out 4 year old granddaughter with us for the full 7 weeks and had a wonderful time.

DiananColin, Sounds like that you and your granddaughter had an excellent trip with only minor problems. Glad the flat tire situation worked out well! Thanks for the report!

I tell you, I have my eye on Willow Tree Resort, possibly for Christmas break. It looks like an absolutely beautiful spot!

DiananColin, congrats on a wonderful trip. And who is so generous that they let you have that little girl for seven weeks? Glad to hear that the Monty performed so well.

Glad to hear you had such a good time on your Florida trip. Sounds like the 3400 held up well. The problems you mentioned are minor and very correctable.I too had to have a leak fixed in my shower and all is good now.

Sounds like you had a great time! We've stayed at the Hilton Head park. I think that's the same one. There are only two parks there and one is motorhomes only. We have friends who have a home on Hilton Head Island. Sure is a busy place, though. Traffic is horrible but the island is beautiful. We spent Jan/Feb on Tybee Island, a more laid back island off Savannah, GA. We could see Hilton Head from there. Glad to hear you had a great time with your granddaughter. They're so much fun.
