Saved a little feller today

Was out back of the camp ground on the quad and saw this little feller in the road destined to get squished if he didn't move a little faster, so I helped him along. This one was a little bigger than I've seen before and a whole lot bigger that the one I got for my granddaughter.

With some of the recent heavy rain we have had a bunch come out of the ground and into my garage. Neighbor got one bout your size and has it in a terrarium for his son....

Little feller? Yeah, right! Why does it look like it has nine legs?

They do make great pets when handled right. This one is a Desert Blonde and they are very fragile. When provoked they do have a bite that feels like a little bee sting so I've heard, I've never been bitten. Great conversation pet.
Science teacher back home has one in his class and the students handle it all the time.

What campsite were you at when you found this? My wife never wants to go there!

There's lots of them around out here, you just seldom see them.

That is so cool, I always consider myself so fortunate to see some of these seldom seen creatures. I have rarely seen rattle snakes in the desert but when I do I am thankful for the opportunity to observe them.

I have a moult of a very large tarantula mounted in a plexiglass container along with it's huge fangs. I did not know the fangs are also replaced with larger ones when they moult. It was a FTF prize on a series of 8 local caches about different varieties of tarantula's.

Nature's wonders are everywhere, we just have to slow down and observe them.
